Must have good supervisory and people skills with solid experience in roofing. Sensitivity to other cultures and ability to lead and motivate staff. Must be proficient in all aspects of the job. Have a valid driver's license / Understand and speak fluent English (can fill out time cards, daily reports, and daily huddles). Can manage a crew and keep everyone working together efficiently. Ability to layout and install tapered insulation / Field wrap difficult flashing details / Install basic sheet metal details such as coping and gravel stop / Make basic carpentry repairs (replace plywood and sheathing) Bilingual Flat Roof Mechanic - 5 years experience Have a valid driver's license / Understand, speak, and write fluent English. Ability to layout and install tapered insulation / Field wrap difficult flashing details / Install basic sheet metal details such as coping and gravel stop / Make basic carpentry repairs (Replace plywood and sheathing). SLATE ROOF Mechanic - 5 years experience Have a valid driver's license / Understand, speak, and write fluent English. Conduct huddles daily / Completes daily reports /Install basic sheet metal details / Make basic carpentry repairs (replace plywood and sheathing) / Lay out a slate roof / Can score 100% on a slate test / Measure a roof and verify enough and correct materials are on-site/Fill-out time cards, daily reports, and daily huddles. SHEET METAL Mechanic -- 5 years experience Have a valid driver's license / Understand/speak English Complete necessary paperwork / Ability to find an address on a map Have basic, trade specific and specialty tools (angle finder, compass, c-clamps, vise grips, level, string level, etc). Lay out and install all types of metal roof systems with little or no explanation / Measure for sheet metal flashings / Measure and fabricate pans, flashings, cornice, finials and other flashings / Solder in all required applications / Install all types of roof drainage systems / Install sheet metal flashings on all types of flat and sloped roof systems.
